First Week of 2025 Posts

This is my first time trying something like this. I am looking forward to great discussions throughout the year.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have or leave comments and remarks.

There are times when we are the ones who make life hard for others and ourselves, and times when others make life hard for us.

Why do we struggle through life with what seems to be little instruction or mentorship in how to live our day-to-day lives? There is so much pain; it makes life hard to get through. It is sad how often we, intentionally or unintentionally, hurt others or allow others to hurt us.

The goal of this book is to help bring understanding to why time together, whether at work, in life, through relationships, or during activities, can seem so hard. In addition, this book will help bring understanding to what our responsibilities are in our daily lives, what is out of our control, and how we are to respond to both.

Regardless of what denomination we hold to, what belief system we follow, or worldview we have developed through our life’s experiences, the principles for better relationships covered in this book are relevant to every one of us. With so much untapped help and guidance available to us, there is no reason to continue going through life hurting or being hurt. These principles do take work and perseverance though, but when followed, the value of what we receive from them is worth more than the effort required.

I spent nearly two decades struggling with my faith and belief system; studying a large variety of ideas, beliefs and evidence throughout human history (biblical and non-biblical). As a result, I found that living our lives from the foundation of grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, answers all the questions of life. After coming to that realization, I spent another two decades developing my understanding and strengthening my conviction of those truths. Through prayer and confidence in God’s guiding, I wrote this book from that understanding and conviction, and from the perspective of true, Spirit led, Christianity. We need to keep in mind, as others (human or spirit) or even God reveals different ideas to our beliefs, there may be some that we disagree or struggle with. Do not stop reading or seeking for Godly truth! I simply ask you to keep an open mind to these views, test them to God’s Word, and ask yourself if each view is better than where I am now. When we hold to these principles, we will find a deeper understanding of reality, continue to grow while working through this book and find strength for the spiritual battles in our lives. The writer of Hebrews put it this way, “For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong” (Hebrews 5:13-14 NLT). These principles and deeper understanding will assist in feasting on that solid food.

God Bless,

RJ
