Our pride, selfishness, insecurity, and misunderstanding of others cause so much fear and anger in this world. These emotions and actions cause a division among us and give our true enemy a foothold to tear us even further apart and destroy us.
Do we not have one Spirit of grace poured out upon us? Why do we tear the members of Christ to pieces? Why do we separate ourselves and forget that we are members of one another? Our divisions have confused and discouraged believers, as well as nonbelievers, causing many to have doubts.
There is only one remedy for this world. It must begin with our relationship to the Creator and those we are closest to. The relationships we develop need to center on the one constant that brings unity, not division. Remember: as imitators of God, we receive new life and transformation through the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. This makes us able to complete the task given to us, which corresponds to our character.
Our characters, personalities, attributes, and spiritual gifts equip us to be the fulfillment of the people God created us to be. The way we grew up and the scars we bear only show us where we have been. They may have caused us to become people God did not intend for us to be, but that does not need to define who we could be.
Why do we continue struggling to be the person or people God intended us to be? What are your struggles?
