Week 6 of 2025

A quote from The Magician’s Nephew says, “For what you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing: it also depends on what sort of person you are.”

Everyone we continue to spend time with is a possible ally or frustration, depending on the relationship. To develop a healthy relationship and an ally, we need to see God and others through the eyes of grace, love, and understanding.

We need to understand that many beliefs, faiths, and religions teach that some form of karma or fate connects us all. They also may teach that unity comes by working together and understanding each other. This form of unity, without the Spirit, is an unachievable, utopian idea. The idea is accurate in the sense that we all are made by the same Creator and have been given a deep desire to live a peaceful life with others.

But the problem comes from the different understandings of what that unity looks like and how it comes to fruition. There are those who are willing to eliminate anyone who does not agree with what they believe to be true (e.g., Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin). World history has shown us that it is impossible to expect that, somehow, everyone will come to a mutual understanding in everything.

People can develop a worldview that is different from those of others based on their upbringing and experiences, as well as what type of people they are. For there to be unity, we need an eternal constant that guides us and unites us. After searching through millennia worth of evidence, I found there is only one being who is that constant and unchanging guide. This guide has provided the way to unite us all and fills a void that we have in our souls for peace and joy.

Would it make sense that the one that created all things and all creatures, is the only one that knows how to unite us all?
